Appropriate Items to Bring

Child/Adolescent Acute Unit Approved Items

  • Three pairs of pants or shorts – at least knee length/no strings
  • Three shirts – no tanks/sleeveless/thin/sheer
  • Two sweaters or sweatshirts – no strings, no hoods
  • Two bras – no underwire
  • Three pairs of underwear – no thongs
  • Three pairs of socks
  • Two pairs of pajamas
  • One pair slippers – no strings (ankle cut and below only; no boots)
  • One pair of shoes – no strings (ankle cut and below only; no boots)
  • One jacket – no strings, no hoods
  • One shampoo and one conditioner – (only cetyl and stearyl alcohol ingredients are allowed. No other alcohol products.)
  • One comb/brush – no metal parts
  • Deodorant
  • One toothbrush – no electric
  • Toothpaste
  • Feminine hygiene products – as needed
  • Two make up items – no compacts/glass/metal/pumps
  • One magazine or book – no hardcovers/wires/staples/strings
  • One personal photo – no frame
  • One personal comfort item: either a pillow, stuffed animal or blanket – no fleece tie or comforters

Adult Acute Unit Approved Items
