Mental Health Treatment Programs

The Continuum of Care refers to the range of services available at Prairie St. John’s. We offer comprehensive care, from clinic services to inpatient hospitalization, and we cover everything in between. While techniques and treatment intensity will vary with the different levels of care, our professionalism and deeply-held commitment to our patients will always remain constant throughout the Continuum of Care.

Inpatient Hospitalization

Inpatient care provides overnight hospitalization for those needing the highest level of care. This level is for patients who need detoxification, treatment for withdrawal or emotional/behavioral problems that are so severe they require inpatient treatment. Patients participate in daily group programming while also receiving individual and family therapy.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are designed for patients who need organized treatment services but are able to do this within the context of their usual environment and daily activities. Sessions are held for three hours in the evening three-four times per week. Individual and family therapy can also be provided at this level of care with therapists in one of our clinic locations.

Low Intensity Outpatient Programs (LIOP)

This program is traditionally a step-down from one of the higher levels of care. Patients at this level of care are seen in a group setting one or two times per week for ongoing care and maintenance.
