Autism Spectrum Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

For patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder that need structure with treatment, Prairie St. John’s Hospital has an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Prairie St. John’s is offering an Intensive Outpatient Program for children on the Autism Spectrum who would benefit from a more intensive structure than can be provided by outpatient services.
Services will be provided in a comfortable environment, will include special interest themes such as science, space and video games and will target:

  • Social Skills
  • Communication
  • Behavior
  • Executive Functioning

Children will be given opportunities to learn and practice:

  • Managing their emotions
  • Expressing themselves
  • Reducing meltdowns and other challenging behaviors
  • Initiating and maintaining social relationships
  • Executive skills such as flexibility, organization, planning, self monitoring, etc…
  • Building independence
  • Planning for the next school year
  • And more…..

Parents will have the opportunity to meet with staff for information, resources and referrals.
The treatment team is multi-disciplinary and includes nursing, therapy, occupational therapy, and psychiatry.
Hours
Monday – Friday
8:30 – 11:30 AM for ages 5 – 10
1:00 – 4:00 PM for ages 11-17
