The Area and Community
Prairie St. John’s employees have the opportunity to live and work in the beautiful Midwest. The lifestyle in this region is well known for being casual and comfortable. There is much to see and do right here in Fargo-Moorhead and within just a few hours’ drive:
- To the east approximately 45 minutes is the Minnesota lakes country.
- To the north four hours is Winnipeg, Canada.
- To the southeast approximately four hours are the “Twin Cities” of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
- To the west approximately six hours are the North Dakota badlands.
Fargo, N.D., is the largest community in the state and continues to grow as a fast-paced, professional commerce center. Fargo is a border-town along Minnesota with the Red River serving as a boundary. Moorhead, Minn., our neighboring city, and Fargo are home to approximately 120,000 residents. The Fargo-Moorhead community was recently designated on the list as “10 Best Places for Jobs” by CNN Money.
Fargo-Moorhead offers a safe environment boasting one of the lowest crime rates in the country. The public and private schools are leaders in providing quality education; the community is home to three colleges/universities and two technical schools.
The community also offers a wide variety of entertainment, including semi-professional baseball, hockey, theatre, symphony, horse racing and much more. In fact, the city ranks as the fourth best city for men and sixth best city for women in the latest issues of Men’s Health and Women’s Health magazines.
