As Chemical Dependency Services Department Director, Daniel Richter leads all chemical dependency services provided by Prairie St. John’s, including Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, Chemical Dependency, Intensive Outpatient Program and High and Low Intensity Residential Treatment Programs. Additionally, he is responsible for administration, professional development, fiscal management, quality assurance within the chemical dependency programs.
Daniel has a variety of work experience and has been with Prairie St John’s since 2001. He is dually licensed as a Licensed Addiction Counselor and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. He believes strongly in the need for services which address each area, understanding that chemical dependency and mental health are often intertwined. Daniel believes that balanced recovery and mental health come from a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual areas of life. He believes mental health is a life-long journey and maintains a healthy balance in his own life through family, community involvement, regular exercise, reading and personal spiritual development.
